At 27, I am apparently a 'mature' student studying English Literature at Cardiff University. I am about to enter my second year and am looking forward to studying creative writing, women's contemporary fiction and welsh poetry (a bit of fresh air for me after Chaucer and Old English) I have a four year old son who keeps me up to date with all the children's literature, and I think I enjoy reading bedtime stories more than he does! I have returned later in life to study after realising that there was not much out there for me. It has been difficult at times, but I love it, and now I am in great risk of becoming the 'perpetual student' and never leaving University! In the past I have worked in numerous offices, bars and restaurants. However, I have also been self-employed as a beauty therapist, TEFL teacher (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), as well as a debt collector (yes, really). I am looking forward to writing some hopefully interesting articles on diverse topics such as, literature, addiction, cooking and philosphy.
